How do you use the egg cooker?

You can make many recipes in the egg cooker – specifically note that if you have any recipe that calls for making it in a mug, the Ceramic Egg Cooker is a much better option. It’s deeper, and it has a silicone grip on the outside so it’s not too hot to grab after being in the microwave.

Cleaning Instructions

Here are a few tips for cleaning the egg cooker:

  • It’s dishwasher safe, so the first step right after you are finished using it and removing the food, is to put cold water inside of it. Let that sit while you eat your recipe and then pour it out and put right into the dishwasher.
  • The silicone sleeve and even the silicone gasket in the lid can actually be removed and cleaned. But always replace it before cooking.
  • If you use a metal fork or spoon, you may notice marring. This does not affect the performance and can be cleaned by simply using a cleanser like Bar Keepers Friend.
  • It’s best to butter or oil the bottom of the egg cooker before cooking, rather than using an aerosol spray which leaves a sticky residue and makes it difficult to clean.

Reviews of the Egg Cooker

The egg cooker from Pampered Chef is a great tool specifically for:

  • Cooking for one
  • Teens
  • Dorm room cooking
  • Quick meals for yourself when no one else is home
  • Those with limited cooking skills

It’s very easy to use in the microwave (it’s also oven safe to 450) which makes it a great tool for healthier eating as well. Rather than going through the drive-through for breakfast, the Ceramic Egg Cooker can save you time and money as well. I enjoy using it for quick and easy breakfasts, and have taught both of my children how to use it as well. My son even asked for it to go to college with him!

Pampered Chef Egg Cooker Recipes and FAQ’s

How do you make scrambled eggs in the egg cooker?

  • Add 1-4 eggs to the cooker and whisk well, making sure the yolks are broken.
  • Add up to 1 tablespoon water or milk per egg if desired.
  • Add veggies, cooked meats or cheese as desired. It’s best to use pre-cooked or leftover vegetables because of the short cooking time of the eggs. However, spinach and green onions can be added raw.
  • Cover the egg cooker, and cover the whole in the lid with your finger and shake 10 times.
  • Place in the microwave and cook according to the following times, adding 10 seconds if needed at the end of cooking.
    • 1 egg = 30 seconds
    • 2 eggs = 1 minute
    • 3 eggs = 1 minute, 10 seconds
    • 4 eggs = 1 minute, 20 seconds
  • Let the egg cooker rest with the lid on in the microwave for 1 minute before removing.

How many eggs can you cook at a time in the egg cooker?

You can cook up to four eggs at a time for some recipes. But for those cooking for one or two people, one or two eggs is plenty. Just note that the more eggs you are cooking, the longer the time to cook them. Be sure the yolks are broken so they do not blow up on the microwave. (A mess to clean).
